This epic drama about the extraordinary life of renowned writer and war hero, Romain Gary, is a heartfelt testament to the special bond shared between a Jewish mother and son. The film follows the celebrated novelist from childhood poverty in Poland, to his education in France and exploits as a World War II aviator. The mélange of rich vignettes is seen through the prism of his relationship with his eccentric and domineering mother, Nina, who pushed beleaguered Gary to fulfill his potential.
