Description

This year, in the season of love and care we are excited to bring you to the Amherst Survival Center for a truly magical After 5. This is NOT your typical After 5 Networking Event. This After 5 timing will be a bit shorter 5:00 - 6:30 PM so folks can get home or out into town with loved ones. Join us for an evening of care!

In lieu of fees for this event, please consider bringing a Valentine's Day gift to someone special. Giving recommendations and suggestions are listed below along with a direct link to purchase to make things SUPER easy! Donations will enter you into a Door Prize Raffle to win some incredible local gifts.

♥️ Family with Kids ♥️

Did you know that you aren’t allowed to use SNAP (food stamps) to buy diapers? A child without diapers is not allowed to go to daycare, causing parents to miss school or work. Diapers are one the Center's most highly requested items along with individually wrapped kids' snacks and kids-themed personal hygiene items!

Suggested Items:

- Diapers (especially size 5 & 6)

- Kids snacks (individually wrapped)

- Kids toothpaste/toothbrushes

- Kids shampoo and conditioner

♥️ Senior Citizen ♥️

Did you know that you aren’t allowed to use SNAP (food stamps) to buy incontinence products? A senior who cannot afford incontinence products may shut themselves in at home or suffer humiliation. Adult diapers are among the Center's most needed personal care resources, and our senior community members also request a broad array of hygiene items and non-perishable soft foods like soups!

Suggested items:

- Adult diapers (esp size LG or XL)
- Hygiene items

- Canned soup

- Non-perishable soft foods

♥️ Pet Owner ♥️

Pets are family. When times are hard, their companionship goes beyond words. When budgets are tight, some even put their pets’ needs ahead of their own. Having free pet food at the Center means that our furry friends are cared for and that the people-food from the Pantry goes to their humans.

Suggested items:

- Wet cat/dog food

- Dry food

- Pet treats

Amherst Survival Center After 5 will include food & beverage tastings and facility tours will happen at 5:45 and 6:15!
