Yidstock: The Festival of New Yiddish Music returns to the Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, MA! Join us on Saturday, July 13 at 8:00 p.m. for a performance by Gephilte, a jam-band experiment in Yiddish funk, the latest boundary-busting project from renowned Canadian Yiddish hip-hop provocateur Josh Dolgin aka Socalled. Taking cues from his funk/klezmer supergroup Abraham Inc, Socalled has brought together an ensemble of fellow Canadian virtuosos to explore Yiddish repertoire in a freewheeling, borderless style, using the incredible Yiddish repertoire to groove out and make audiences move. The Joan A. Backman Memorial Concert About Yidstock: Now in its twelfth year, Yidstock brings the best in klezmer and new Yiddish music to the Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, Massachusetts.
